Roof Material Questions

How do I choose the right roofing material for my home?

Start with the style of the house, then what you care about most: the look, storm protection, how long it lasts, or cost. Slate suits traditional and brick homes, cedar shake suits cottages and craftsman homes, standing seam suits farmhouses and modern homes, and designer asphalt is the strongest upgrade for the money. The matcher on this page walks you through it in five questions.

How much does a new roof cost in North Carolina?

It depends on the size of the roof, how steep it is, the material, how many old layers come off, and how many dormers, chimneys and valleys it has. Every roof is different, so we do not post a price online. We measure the roof and give you a written price.

Is the roof measurement free?

Yes. Owner Troy Carlson comes out, measures the roof, checks the decking and structure, and walks you through the materials that fit your house. You get a written price after the visit, at no cost.

Do you install Brava synthetic slate and composite cedar shake?

Yes. Central Carolina Roofing Systems is a Brava Certified Contractor. We install Brava synthetic slate and composite cedar shake across Alamance, Orange, Durham, Wake and Guilford counties.
